Childcompanion

As part of a semester project, the concept of the “Childcompanion” was developed within a student team in cooperation with an industry partner as an extension of an existing emergency system, enabling children without smartphones to use a fall detection sensor in case of a bicycle accident. The focus lay on translating the idea into a tangible prototype and exploring its practical feasibility.

Following an in-depth research phase, initial sketches were created and physical models were shaped from rigid foam to test form and ergonomics. Building on these iterations, several prototypes were planned and produced using 3D printing, allowing the concept to be evaluated, refined and developed further through hands-on experimentation.
